Nearly half-a-dozen unidentified men robbed a Flipkart warehouse in east Delhi's Patparganj area late on Saturday night after holding the employees hostage at gunpoint. The robbers decamped with as much as Rs 28 lakh.

The incident was captured on a CCTV camera installed in the warehouse. The police suspect the role of an insider.

The CCTV footage shows the robbers, armed with pistols and bamboo sticks, barge into the warehouse fearlessly. Four persons with their faces covered entered the godown complex and one of them can be seen wearing a helmet. The security guard tried to intervene but got thrashed. The robbers then broke open a room and held six employees hostage at gunpoint.

The warehouse had goods to be transported to various places, as well as cash locked in a cupboard.

According to the police, the robbers decamped with goods and the money in just 3-4 minutes. One of them can also be seen kicking the door open.

Cops suspect the role of an insider because of the ease with which the robbers came in and left. It seemed they were well aware of the location of the cash.

Based on the complaint of one of the employees of the e-commerce website, a case of robbery under Section 392 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Madhu Vihar police station. Further investigation is underway.
