Work at the Delhi Secretariat picked up pace on Wednesday with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) ministers and IAS officers ending their four-month-long "partial strike" and attending meetings while sitting face to face, discussing important issues concerning the national Capital. As many as 20 meetings were held between the officers and the ministers of various departments.

Important issues related to the departments of power, health, urban development, public works were discussed with ministers and IAS officers sitting in the same room after a four-month gap. The meetings were scheduled after Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Anil Baijal suggested Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to reach out to the officers and address their issues on safety and security.

However, the officers are awaiting an official communication from Kejriwal over the meeting to take place between them. The CM is likely to leave for Bengaluru soon to join a 10-day naturopathy course after his blood sugar levels increased. He had earlier attended the naturopathy treatment in Bengaluru for a chronic cough problem.

"We are still waiting for the official communication and now when he has left for Bengaluru, the meeting will be delayed for a few more days. We will continue doing the work that we have been doing since the last few months," said a senior Delhi government officer.

Even on Wednesday, the IAS officers continued to hold a five-minute silent protest outside the offices. The bureaucrats came out in public after Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly assaulted by AAP MLAs at Kejriwal's house in February. The officers shared how they feel unsafe with the behaviour of few MLAs.

"Once we will have a meeting with the CM and all our issues are addressed, then we will take a decision on the silent protest," said another officer.

Kejriwal on Monday had made an appeal to the officers to end their "strike" and suggested to have a formal discussion in the presence of the L-G. The officers, in return, replied him on a positive note.

Kejriwal along with his deputy Manish Sisodia, Satyendar Jain and Gopal Rai were protesting against the "partial strike" carried out by the IAS officers in the capital for the last four months. The team of ministers had gone to the L-G house on Monday evening last week seeking an appointment from Baijal. As L-G refused to meet them, two of the Ministers- Sisodia and Jain went on a hunger strike. They were then shifted to the hospital as their health deteriorated.
