Suspected BJP workers run over and kill man

A man in his forties was run over by a vehicle driven by two alleged BJP party members on the bypass road behind Rajghat in central Delhi.

The deceased's two wheeler was hit by the Honda City from behind. The victim died on the spot.

The accused, who were supposedly drunk, were arrested while they were hiding in the railway yard and changing the blood stained tyres. Locals from the area nabbed them, broke their car and took them to the police.

Meanwhile, in another accident, a man was killed and another injured, after a speeding Fortuner car ran them over in east Delhi's Pandav Nagar. This happened on late night Thursday, police said.

The victims were employed with a construction company that has been handed a contract by the NHAI for construction on NH-24, they added.

Jasvir Singh (28), employed as a safety officer with the construction firm, was supervising the installation of a safety board when the accident happened.

Singh was standing near his car and issuing instructions to two labourers - Keshav and Deepak about putting up the board. While he was standing there, a Fortuner that was coming from Nizamuddin Dargah's side and being driven towards Ghaziabad hit Singh and labourer, Deepak (18), said a senior police officer.

ANOTHER MISHAP

  • Meanwhile, in another accident, a man was killed and another injured, after a speeding Fortuner car ran them over in east Delhi’s Pandav Nagar. This happened on late night Thursday, police said.
