Delhi Police have arrested three men from Motihari in Bihar and recovered high-end garments worth Rs 80 lakh, meant to be exported by a Delhi based firm, last week. The trio, which includes a rickshaw puller, labourer and a road side painter, had planned to sell off these garments to attain a better standards of living, police said.

The theft was reported on June 3, when police received complaint from one Nitin Kumar, a resident of Green Field Colony, Faridabad. Police said, in his complaint, Kumar reported that about 250 cartons containing garments worth about Rs 80 lakh were stolen from his godown in Vishkarma Colony, Pul Prahaladpur area.

The accused have been identified as a building painter Upendra Yadav, 22, rice mill labourer Sandeep Saha, 26 and rickshaw puller Anil Saha, 22. Police said, a team probing the matter scanned through the CCTV footages and registration number of the vehicle used by the accused persons was obtained.

"The vehicle details were traced and investigations into the matter led police to the trio," said Romil Baanya, DCP southeast. "During interrogation, the accused revealed that Upender had hatched the plan in Bihar with the other two. They all reached the area before executing theft and fled with the material in order to sell it to earn hefty amount," he added.
