Speeding truck hits duo, kills one

A 35-year-old man was killed while his friend was injured when the duo were hit by a speeding truck on the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway at Knowledge Park, in the early hours of Monday morning. The two had just got out of their car to change a tyre, the police said.

According to the cops, the incident took place near Jhatta Badauli. Deceased Vikram Singh, a resident of Etah, was on his way to meet a relative in Delhi, along with his friend Pankaj.

“Pankaj said that the tyre of their car burst, after which the two stepped out of the vehicle to change it. Suddenly, a truck hit them and fled from the spot,” said Hansraj Bhadauriya, Station Officer, Knowledge Park police station.

According to the police, Pankaj made the PCR call and the two were rushed to a nearby hospital, where Singh was declared dead on arrival and Pankaj was discharged after beign administered the first aid.
No one has lodged a complaint but police are trying to trace the truck driver.
