Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal held a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday afternoon, just hours after Supreme Court said that Delhi Lieutenant-Governor (L-G) does not have independent decision-making powers. Kejriwal directed the officials to expedite the work on the pending projects such as the doorstep delivery of rations and the installation of CCTV cameras.

"I have directed all functionaries of the Delhi government to function according to the Supreme Court order. They have been directed to expedite proposals of doorstep delivery of rations and CCTVs now," said Kejriwal after the meeting. Delhi Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, Home Secretary Manoj Parida, Finance Secretary Renu Sharma and Law Secretary Anoop Kumar Mendiratta attended the meeting called by the CM.

The judgment by a five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra laid down broad parameters for the governance of the national Capital, which has witnessed a bitter power tussle between the Centre and Delhi government since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power in 2014.

On February 27, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia targeted Prakash and blamed him for the delay in doorstep delivery of ration services. The delay in the doorstep delivery of ration services was apparently also discussed in the meeting that happened at the residence of Kejriwal in February. Prakash was allegedly attacked by few AAP MLAs after which the matter was reported to the police. The incident led to an open war between the bureaucrats and AAP ministers.
