Special cell busts international fake currency ring

The Delhi Police's special cell has busted an international syndicate indulging in the circulation of fake Indian currency notes (FICN) into various parts of India, including the national Capital. The police have arrested two men and recovered from them FICN worth Rs 4.50 lakh in the denomination of Rs 2000 notes which were being pumped into India from Nepal and Bangladesh through the Indo-Bangladesh border in the Maldah district in West Bengal.

The arrested persons were identified as Dilip Shah (32) a resident of Parsa in Nepal and Anand Das (48) from Balurghat in West Bengal. DCP special cell, PS Kushwah said that they received an information about attempts at reviving circulation of FICN in India by the members of an international syndicate. 

"A team was deputed to develop the information about members of the identified syndicate. Surveillance was mounted on the movements of a few suspected members of this syndicate and requisite intelligence was collected. 

During the investigation, it was learned that the fake currency is being pumped into India from Nepal and Bangladesh." Kushwah saidc
