Troubled by corruption and time taking process to get your building map approved? The Noida Authority is now planning to provide online approval to the building maps. The scheme is expected to be launched in October. The first phase of the plan would only allow approval of residential and industrial building maps.

According to the information received, the plan would include acceptance of online payment of the approved fees and would, therefore, help in making the process even more transparent.

Starting this October, the proposed building plan management system will automate online documents submission, online fee payment, architect registration, building plan approval and approval to completion and occupation certificates.

"Earlier the map approval process was done manually but now we have planned to launch a facility for online approval of maps. Once the facilities come into action, a person can easily get the approval of building map online by just sitting at home" said Alok Tandon, Chairman, Noida Authority.

To apply for map approval online, users would just need to visit the Noida authority's website and select the online approve map option. They will then have to make an online profile by filling in details like name, email id and phone number. "Consumers will be provided with a one-time password, after which they can log in for map approval and upload soft copy of the map and the other documents required," Tandon said.

Upon filling all the details, users will have to deposit a certain amount as application fee. "After getting confirmation that the consumer has deposited the fee, a message will be generated. This message will reach the map approval authority, who will check if the map is in accordance with building by-laws and other details, and it will be approved. The entire process will take around 48 hours. If there will be any flaws found in the map, the authority will send an e-mail to the user," Tandon added.

The officer further said that the trial has been inspected but certain changes are being incorporated. It is expected that the scheme will be available from October onwards.

In the first phase, the authority will provide online approval for the map of residential and industrial plots while for other properties like that of commercial spaces, schools and hospitals the online approval facility will be launched in December this year.
