After BJP's victory in Lok Sabha polls, party's Delhi unit is clamouring for the removal of Sheila Dikshit from the post of Kerala governor. The BJP wants that Dikshit should be questioned by the investigating agencies for her role in the Commonwealth Games scam.

Besides Dikshit, 18 other state governors will be removed from their post in the days to come. Removal of Delhi lieutenant governor Najeeb Jung is also certain and is on the top of the cards for the BJP. Dikshit, who was three times Congress party chief minister of Delhi, had lost to Arvind Kejriwal in the assembly election of November 2013. She was then rehabilitated by the Congress party with the post of governor.

The BJP and Aam Aadmi Party had then openly criticised the Congress for providing immunity to Dikshit. On being anointed as governor, Dikshit had become immune from any kind of inquiry that could have been initiated against her. Both AAP and the BJP wanted to reopen the Commonwealth Games scam to nail Dikshit.

The new government will also initiate the process for removing Sheila Dikshit from the governorship of Kerala. Sources also say that a list of 19 governors has been prepared who will be replaced in a few months' time. The Delhi state BJP unit has started brainstorming on their probable candidate for Delhi's lieutenant governor. The state will be sending a list of three probable candidates for the post to the Centre. Those aspiring for the chair have already started lobbying for it. "We will send three names to the Centre very soon. Delhi will go to polls only with the new Lt. governor," said a senior leader of the BJP.

Most of these governors are former Congress leaders appointed by the party. Karnataka governor Hansraj Bhardwaj and Gujarat governor Kamala Beniwal had already met Congress party president Sonia Gandhi for seeking her permission to resign from their posts. The two governors had also met President Pranab Mukherjee to submit their resignation.
