Seven held for ransacking Delhi BJP chief's home

Five more arrested for trespassing on BJP Manoj Tiwari’s home

Five more persons have been arrested for trespassing and thrashing two staffers and entering the official residence of Delhi BJP Chief, Manoj Tiwari in Lutyen's Delhi area. The police officials claimed that the incident was not just a road rage but a racial attack in which more persons joined in.

"A total of seven persons have been arrested so far. One of the arrested Jagsidh Chander works as a cook at the Rashtrapati Bhawan and is also the elder brother of the two accused arrested on Monday. The car has also been traced," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, New Delhi, BK Singh.

The officer further added that during the course of investigations they have come across some objectionable statements and are looking into the matter. "It is not just a road –rage incident but seems to be a planned thing as more people joined in. We have added sections of rioting with regard to the case," added Singh.

The accused persons have been identified as Jagdish Chander (42), Parshu Ram (32), Pradeep Kumar (24), Sunil Kumar (33) and Om Parkash (31).

Tiwari's aides alleged that some of the attackers made remarks like "We want to send the Biharis back". The police claimed that they are investigating the case from all angles.

Tiwari had on Monday stated that the attack was a conspiracy against him.

Few persons had allegedly entered Tiwari's house and thrashed two of his staffers after an alleged incident of road rage. The police have on Monday arrested two persons identified as Jaswant and Jaykumar. Tiwari was neither present in the car or his house when the incident took place. The Delhi Police arrested two persons with regard to the incident.

As per the CCTV footage, two men can be seeing beating up Tiwari's staffer and later entering his house armed with rods and sticks.
