Second casino busted within a week, 25 held

The casino was busted in the second attempt, as an earlier plan to raid the place was cancelled at the last minute when the flat was found to be locked.

The Delhi Police busted yet another casino in south Delhi’s Greater Kailash on Saturday. As many as 25 people were arrested in connection with the case. This is the second casino to be busted in south Delhi within a week. 

The casino, which was being run in a three-bedroom flat in the Pamposh Enclave of Greater Kailash-I, is owned by one Anupama Jain, 50, who has claimed she was earlier a model and currently works as the owner executive of an event management company.  

Jain told the police that she had been running the casino for the last 10-15 days. She had shifted to the second-floor house a year ago and lived there with her son, the police said.

On Saturday night, nearly 14 businessmen, mostly from Pitampura, Noida, and Gurugram had come to gamble at the place. A police team from Greater Kailash raided the flat and seized around Rs 8.5 lakh in cash and chips. As many as 10 others who worked at the casino were also arrested. In addition, 45 packets of playing cards, a small wooden game bingo, and 25 mobile phones were seized during the raid.
