Police on Wednesday said that the man, who killed a 78-year-old man, a retired Central Public Works Department (CPWD) employee, in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden, had carried out the recce of the area hours prior to the murder. The police officials also questioned the domestic help who worked at the residence, however, nothing substantial was found so far.

The 78-year-old man was allegedly found murdered at his residence in West Delhi's Rajouri Garden area on Tuesday night. The house was ransacked and cash and jewellery were found missing. The deceased Jugal Kishore resided on the second floor along with his wife Shashi.

The investigating officials stated that CCTV footage was procured from the area and a man was noticed in them. "We saw a man roaming in the area around two-three hours prior to the murder. He can be seen in most of the footages. We suspect the role of an insider, as the entry seemed friendly and he was even aware when the deceased would be alone at home," said a police officer.
