Accused lures minor with ice-cream near Seemapuri, inserts water pipe in her private parts
A 20-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly raping and assaulting a 7-year-old girl at a secluded park in Shahdara's Seemapuri area on Monday evening. As per the mother of the girl the accused man had inserted a water pipe in the girl's private parts which left her injured. She underwent a surgery and is stable.
According to the police, the accused's mother in her complaint had stated that the girl had gone out of the house at around 8 pm to play with her friends in the locality. When the girl did not return home after an hour, her mother went out to check.
"Later she was informed by the locals that they have seen the girl in a nearby park. The mother rushed to the park and found her daughter in an unconscious state and was bleeding," said Meghna Yadav, Deputy commissioner of police (Shahdara).
The mother rushed her daughter to a nearby hospital where the doctors confirmed sexual assault with the minor. Following the conformation by the doctors and a police complaint was registered and a case of rape under section 376 of the Indian Penal Code and POSCO Act was registered.
"During interrogation, it came to light that a neighbour was seen with the girl. Following which we managed to trace the man and arrest him. The accused is a rag picker. The accused lured the girl to buy her an ice cream and took her to that park and raped her," said Yadav.
The girl is stable but she has received stitches in her private parts and is recuperating, police said. The girl lives with her mother, a single parent, who works to run her living.
Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal on Tuesday visited the child in Guru Teg Bahadur hospital where the minor underwent a surgery and tweeted "Just met with 7-year-old rape survivor who was brutally raped in Seemapuri yesterday by a 22-year-old man. He took her to a park, inserted water pipe inside her private part & then raped her. Girl is v critical, has bled incessantly & was operated upon. Mom single parent, v poor!"
ACCUSED TAKES THE GIRL TO PARK ON PRETEXT OF PLAYING
