After the thumping majority in Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) Elections, state BJP chief Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday said that the win was a victory for the work done by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Addressing the media, Tiwari congratulated and thanked the poeple in Delhi and dedicated the victory to the martyrs in the Sukma attack.

"Never has Delhi voted for one party with such a majority in the history of MCD polls. This win is a victory for the work done by PM Modi in last three years. It's a victory of Amit Shah's vision and hard work of our party men," he said.

Stating that he wanted to reassure Delhiites of the faith they have reposed in them, he said, " I will be honoured and we will do our best to provide Delhi what it deserves."

Tiwari also took on Arvind Kejriwal saying the Delhi Chief Minister who should have been the harbinger of good news and welfare for the people, had cursed the city and its residents. "It seems like he has vowed to devastate the city with his negativity," he said.

"A city so pious, that has a rich history written all across. But unfortunately, the capital drew attention for all the wrong reasons courtesy the CM and his disgruntled and negative attitude," he said.

The prospects of a "massive" defeat loomed large over the AAP, close on the heels of the bypolls for Rajouri Garden Assembly seat where the BJP-Akali Dal candidate won while the AAP party candidate lost his security deposit.
