One person died while seven others were injured after the car they were travelling in rammed into a stationary truck parked on the Chirag Delhi flyover. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered and the truck has been seized from the location. The driver of the truck is yet to be arrested.

According to the police, the incident took place in the wee hours of Saturday when a Tata Sumo car carrying eight persons allegedly rammed in the truck parked on the side. The car was carrying employees who worked at a firm in Gurugram. Prima facie, it appears that the driver of the Tata Sumo was also speeding when he collided with the truck. The deceased has been identified as Umar Sayed, one of the employees. The police were informed and they were rushed to the hospital wherein Umar was declared dead on arrival while others are being treated.

"He was working with Genpact for the last few months and was expecting a promotion as well. Did not know that I would be standing at the hospital like this due to an unfortunate incident. As per what I am told, the driver of the car was speeding and hit the truck from the back," said Anas Sayed, Umar's brother.

In another incident, two SUV cars met with an accident near the Supreme Court on Bhagwan Das road. A Scorpio car, which had five occupants, including two minors, had a collision with a Fortuner car. The Scorpio had five people -- Sunita, Deepika, Aryan, Nand Kishor and Khushi. They sustained minor injuries and absconded from the RML hospital. The Fortuner car was driven by Vinod Singh. As per CCTV footage and eyewitnesses, the driver of the Scorpio car was at fault. "We are still conducting an inquiry into the incident. Legal action will be taken as per factual details," said a senior police officer.
