Ola driver stalking minor girls held by police

Two minor siblings aged 8 and 10, showed exemplary courage by helping the police nab an Ola cab driver and his friend— Dheeraj and Praveen,— who were stalking them on Thursday afternoon.

The girls screamed when the duo tried to persuade them to sit in their car. On hearing the girls scream, a large number of crowd gathered on the spot and nabbed the two men.

On a complaint made by the uncle of girls, a case under section 354D (stalking) is registered at East Delhi's Pandav Nagar police station. In his complaint, the girl's uncle alleged that the duo had been stalking the kids for the past two days and that the girls had even complained about it to their mother. On Thursday, the men were waiting for the girls outside the schoo again, this time in different cars. When they tried to follow them, the minors screamed and alerted the public," the complaint said.

The locals helped the girls and called the police control room. The accused were caught and handed over to the police.

According to the girls' father, the accused had been harassing the girls for the past few days. "They used to stalk them on their way back from school and would ask their names and address. My daughters were simply ignoring them," he said.

He further added that on Wednesday, the accused again reached outside the school and asked the same questions. "My girls got terrified and rushed from there. They entered a nearby temple and hid themselves behind the idol," he said, adding the accused could not find them and left from there.

The girls narrated the incident to their mother upon reaching home. "We instructed them not to come home alone the next day. But they forgot and left from the school on Thursday even when their mother was on her way back to pick them," he said.

"The stalker crossed all the limits when he tried to kidnap my daughters on Thursday," said father.
