Continuing his encounter spree, new SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar Ajay Pal Sharma carried out two encounters in Noida where he was posted just four days ago. The first encounter took place on Thursday night and the second encounter took place on Friday afternoon. However, the two escaped death while sustaining bullet injuries on their legs.
Sharma, who was earlier posted in Shamli, has carried out around 50 encounters in his 7-year long career.
In the first encounter, a wanted criminal, Khushi Mohammad, with a bounty of Rs 10,000 on his arrest was held after an encounter with the local police late on Thursday night. The police said that he was shot in the foot while another accomplice managed to flee the spot because of the darkness. The arrest was made by a police team of Noida Phase-3 during a checking near Parthla village around 11:30 pm on Thursday night.
“While routine vehicular checking drive, the police team signalled the two travelling on a motorcycle to stop, but instead of stopping they opened fire on the police and tried to run away towards FNG road. In counter firing by the police, one of the criminals sustained bullet injuries in the leg. He had been admitted to the hospital while the other is at large and the police is conducting search operations to nab him”, Sharma said.
Officials said that Mohammad has confessed to having injured a man when they shot a bullet at him during a robbery attempt in the Sector 68 area of Noida in January this year. “During questioning, it came to the fore that he and his friend used to rob people after calling them at a secluded place to sell the item which they would post on OLX,” Sharma said.
On Friday afternoon, a wanted criminal, identified as Paan Singh, carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 was arrested after a brief encounter in Noida Sector 58.

- The first encounter took place on Thursday night. The victim was identified as Khushi Mohammad with a bounty of Rs 10,000 on his arrest
- The second encounter took place on Friday night. The criminal, Paan Singh, had a bounty of Rs. 25,000 on his arrest.
