A 16-year-old girl has alleged that she was being gang-raped by three of her cousins for the past 15 months in the Sector 39 area of Noida. The victim made a police complaint on Monday, following which a case has been registered. However, no arrests have been made yet.

According to a senior police official, the complainant, a resident of Salarpur village, has alleged that her maternal cousins had been gang-raping her for almost 15 months.

"In the complaint, the victim has said that three of her cousins had been taking turns to rape her and this has been happening for some time now. She also said that she had got pregnant recently," said Avnish Dixit, station house officer of sector 39 police station.

She further alleged that the three accused forced her to take a medicine to abort the child.

" After she underwent the abortion, she started facing its side effects. Later, her parents got to know about it. She then narrated the ordeal to her parents following which the parents brought her to us to register a complaint," Dixit said.

Following the complaint filed by the girl, police have registered an FIR under section 376D (punishment for gang rape) of the Indian Penal Code and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.

"We are investigating the matter. A medical test has been ordered for the girl. No arrests have been made so far. Only after a thorough investigation, will we take any action," Dixit said.

Police said that the accused are also residents of Salarpur and one of them works as a journalist for a private news channel.
