Noida: Gear up for 100-day triathlon challenge

A Dare2gear, a Noida-based outdoor fitness company, is organising the 100 Days Triathlon Challenge, an initiative that combines three major sports – running, cycling and swimming.

If you have not been able to stick to your New Year's resolution of being fit here is a second chance to complete your resolution. A Dare2gear, a Noida-based outdoor fitness company, is organising the 100 Days Triathlon Challenge, an initiative that combines three major sports – running, cycling and swimming. 

The event will kickstart on June 22 and conclude on World Heart Day i.e. September 29. One just needs to login onto www.100daystriathlonchallenge.com to register. Once registered the participants have to update daily exercise chart on it.

Preeti Chaudhary, a well known name in the cycling community in Delhi and the first female from Delhi NCR to receive the recognition for Super Randonneur in 2016, is one of the mentors.

Dr. Kamal Davra, who has a Super Randonneur title in his list of achievements and the completion of a 1200 KM brevet in 90 hours, is also a mentor of the 100-day challenge.

According to the organisers, the challenge, built around three sports, lets you switch between different forms of exercises that primarily help in two ways. It reduces the chances of an injury as one is not overtiring the same muscle group and it doesn't let the routine become monotonous.

"As making more and more people fitness conscious, is a cause close to my heart, we have come up with this 100 days triathlon challenge to give people a platform where they can work towards their fitness goals and be a part of a greater movement," said Tarun Pushap Wadhwa of Dare2gear.

"I want more and more people to embrace fitness as it is life changing in ways more than one. Apart from its obvious health benefits, it gives you a positive outlook towards life. By introducing this challenge, our aim is to make more and more people experience it for themselves," said the firm's co-founder Binod Bhadri.

The event format.

Level 1: Uni – Sports challenge
Pick any one of the three sports (Running – minimum 2KM, cycling – minimum 10 KM or Swimming – minimum 250 metres) every day for 100 days.

Level 2: Duathlon Challenge
Pick any one of the three sports (Running, cycling or swimming) for 6 days in a week and do a duathlon atleast once every week by combining any 2 sports.
(Run - Min 2Km, Cycle - Min 10Km, Swim - Min 250 mts)

Level 3: Triathlon Challenge
Pick any one of the three sports (running, cycling or swimming) for 6 days in a week and do a Triathlon atleast once every week by doing all the 3 sports.

How to participate;

To be a part of this event, all one needs is an internet connection to sign up www.100daystriathlonchallenge.com and enter you daily logs and they can participate from any part of the world. Thus physical location doesn't matter.
