The Noida Authority on Wednesday demolished an illegal structure outside a government house, just a stone's throw away from the houses of Gautam Budh Nagar DM and SSP. The move comes after the DNA reported how despite several complaints, no action was taken against the encroachment.

Noida Authority' Project Engineer SC Mishra confirmed the report of the demolition. Complainant Manoj Kumar, a Manager with the Greater Noida Authority, expressed satisfaction with the action taken.

A flower seller, Ram Nishad, and his family had encroached upon the land outside house number G-49 in Sector 27. The house belongs to the Noida Authority and was allotted to Kumar on January 28, 2003. He lives there with his wife Seema and two-year-old son Akshaj.

Not only did Nishad encroach upon the land but he also obtained PAN card, passport, driving license, and various other government documents by giving Kumar's address as his own. The matter came to light on April 22, 2017, when Kumar received Nishad's PAN card on his address. He then lodged a complaint at Sector 20 police station, with SSP Love Kumar, and Noida Authority CEO Amit Mohan Prasad on April 24. The 'investigation' went on for over a month. Meanwhile, Nishad allegedly threatened Kumar's family for lodging a complaint against him.

The Manager had to run from pillar to post to get an FIR registered. Finally, after DNA published the report, the police and the Noida Authority sprung into action and an FIR was lodged.
