Nine including juvenile held for doctor murder in Delhi’s Jahangirpuri

Nine persons including a juvenile have been apprehended for killing a doctor and later robbing his house of cash and jewellery in North-West Delhi’s Jahangirpuri area. Dr Iqbal Qasim was found dead at his residence and the house ransacked on November 12.

Aslam Khan, Deputy Commissioner of Police confirmed the arrest. The accused persons have been identified as Rizwan alias Rizu, Rizwan alias Nasty, Vishal Rawat alias Bunty, Mohammad Ammar, Sandhya Rawat, Raju Rawat, Riyasat, Afroz and the juvenile who worked as a compounder with the doctor. 

The juvenile was aware that Qasim’s daughter was scheduled to get married in the first week of December. He knew the house would have a lot of cash and jewellery. He shared the idea with Ammar who then informed his friends. Rizu, Nasty, Bunty decided to carry out the crime. Since the juvenile and Ammarhad done a thorough recee of the house and played the role of informers; they knew where things would be kept. Investigations officials stated that from the point of when he would be alone at home to where his keys would be kept, they knew everything. The trio ( Bunty/Rizu/Nasty) reached the doctor’s house to execute the plan. 

Khan added that around Rs 5.5 lakh  and most of the looted jewellery have been recovered. 

After they killed the doctor and robbed the house trio distributed the looted valuables and cash amongst themselves and handed them over to their parents and a friend to keep it safely.
