New Delhi: Two men stabbed to death, one critically injured in violent ruckus between two groups

Two men were stabbed to death while another was critically injured in Narela area of New Delhi following a violent ruckus between two groups on Thursday evening.

The reason that instigated the killings, however, could not be ascertained till late evening.

Some locals told police that gunshots were fired, while some also stated that the victims were stabbed.

"At around 8.15 pm on Thursday, three persons were stabbed. While two of them were declared dead, the third one is undergoing treatment," said DCP Rohini, Rajneesh Gupta.

The men, a resident of  Narela's Bankner have been identified as Govind (25) and Satish (40) and Mukesh (30).

The DCP said that all the three people have criminal background and cause of the murder is being ascertained."

Gupta also said that personal enmity is suspected to be the reason behind the killing but did not rule out robbery as one of the suspected motives.

Police said crime and forensic teams are on the spot and locals are being questioned. CCTV footages are being scanned to ascertain the sequence of events. 

The incident is being probed from all possible angles, the DCP added.
