National Capital reels under heatwave

The Met office has forecast clear skies for Friday along with the possibility of heatwave conditions in a few places.

The national capital on Thursday reeled under a heatwave as the maximum temperature again settled at 43 degrees Celsius, three degrees above the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 26.5 degrees, normal for this time of the year, and humidity oscillated between 53 and 23 per cent, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) official said.

The Met office has forecast clear skies for Friday along with the possibility of heatwave conditions in a few places."The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover at 44 and 26 degrees respectively," the weatherman said.

The IMD has warned of a severe heat wave starting from Sunday and this could lead to a spike in the cases of heat stroke and fever.

On Wednesday, the city was gripped by searing heat as the maximum temperature touched 43 degrees Celsius.
