The weather department has predicted dust storms in the coming days, which will bring down the temperature by a few notches in the city, though briefly. The Capital celebrated a relatively cooler Holi on Friday with an overcast sky that continued till Saturday.

The meteorological department has warned of dust storms on Sunday, bringing the mercury down to 28-29 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature recorded on Saturday was 33 degrees Celsius, which was five degrees above the season's average. The minimum temperature was recorded at 17 degrees Celsius, four degrees over the season's normal. It is likely to drop in the coming days with the weatherman predicting it to touch 15 degrees Celsius on Monday. Its maximum counterpart will rise from Tuesday, oscillating between 30 to 31 degrees Celsius. The minimum will remain between 14 and16 degrees with the sky, too, remaining clear for the most part of the week. Only the weekend will see a cloud cover, that too partially.

Residents were surprised by the sudden change in weather in February, which, according to meteorological data, recorded one of the warmest days in the past seven years. The temperature soared to 34 degrees Celsius, giving the spring month, the feeling of a hot mid-March. However, the overcast sky for the past two days has brought marginal respite.
