Murder convict out on parole involved in more killings

Tomar was convicted in a murder in Rohtak in 2008. He had managed to get 21-days parole from Bhondsi jail, Gurgaon, in July 2014 and had not returned to the jail.

Delhi Police arrested a murder convict who was allegedly involved in three more killings, while on parole, in UP and Delhi. Accused Deepak Tomar, 26, was arrested by a Crime Branch team near Mangolpuri railway station on October 13, said Ravindra Yadav, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime Branch).

Tomar was convicted in a murder in Rohtak in 2008. He had managed to get 21-days parole from Bhondsi jail, Gurgaon, in July 2014 and had not returned to the jail.

While evading police arrest, Deepak along with his associates participated in a sensational double murder in Baghpat in UP in 2015. They had fired fired 21 rounds with country-made pistols eliminating Jitender and Anil of Ranbir gang in his native village Ramala. A cash reward of Rs 5000 was announced for his arrest.

Again in September 2015, Deepak and his associates murdered Sohanveer in Baba Haridas Nagar area of Delhi. The murder was committed as revenge since Sohanveer had thrashed Deepak in Rohtak jail.

He was also involved in robbing of an SUV from Nihal Vihar in Delhi in May 2015.

Crime Branch was making efforts to nab Deepak and several raids were conducted on his hideouts but he escaped narrowly on those occasions. He was living at Shiv Ram Park area in Nangloi while on the run.
