An initial report prepared on the re-inspection of mohalla clinics has marked 45 per cent of the sites as 'feasible' for the construction of the clinics. These sites were earlier declared "non-feasible" and were re-inspected after Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal found them viable in a surprise inspection.

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Public Works Department (PWD) and department of health were asked to re-inspect around 160 sites which were declared "non-feasible" by the officials in the first round of inspection. Of them, the report of 88 sites has been prepared and submitted to the department of health.

As per the report, the DJB has cleared 31 sites (excluding 10 with some conditions) while the PWD and the department of health has given nod to 38 and 75 sites respectively. The compiled report will be presented to Kejriwal on Monday.

"We are waiting for the report of the remaining sites. The continous rainfall has slowed down the work, but we are hopeful that the entire inspection will be completed in a day," said a senior Delhi government official. Sources in the government said that due to the laxity of the officials, the work on the mohalla clinics is getting delayed.

The decision to re-inspect the sites was taken after Kejriwal pulled up the authorities last week as he made a surprise visit to some of the sites declared as "non-feasible" by the officials and found them viable. Of the total 660 sites to be inspected for the construction of the mohalla clinics, the department had managed to complete the survey on around 460 sites till date.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in its 2018-2019 budget has proposed setting up of 1,000 such clinics in the national Capital As per the timeline projected by the government this year, the joint survey by the PWD and the chief medical officers should have been completed by April 30.
