Gautam Budh Nagar Police have found the man who had allegedly gone missing. The man, however, has claimed that he left his home on his own after being in debt of over Rs 60 lakh from Honda Chowk in Greater Noida on Saturday night with Rs 2.9 lakh cash.

According to the police, Uday Raj Singh (48), a businessman and a resident of Greater Noida, had allegedly gone missing on March 5 after he had left his house to deposit money in a nearby bank. The family had lodged a complaint of his abduction and named three persons as suspects.

"Ever since the complaint, we had put his phone on surveillance. Finally, on Saturday night, he was found at Honda Chowk. Singh revealed that he left his house on his own as he was under a debt of Rs 60 lakh from banks and various other people," said Love Kumar, Senior Superintendent of Police, Gautam Budh Nagar.

Police said Singh returned after traveling to different cities such as Bikaner, Bhatinda and Saharanpur in the past two weeks to search for work but failed.

"Singh took a Metro ride from Golf Course metro station and reached New Delhi railway station. From there, he reached Bhatinda in Punjab and later Bikaner in Rajasthan, and then Saharanpur in Western Uttar Pradesh before coming back to Greater Noida," said Kumar.

Police also suspect that Singh was in touch with his family and they intentionally misled the investigation by revealing the abduction angle.

"Singh claims that he had written a note to his wife and son stating that he had left the house on his own, but still they kept this information hidden. Moreover, the call details show that Singh was in constant touch with his family and yet they kept telling us that the man has been abducted. We will now probe the reason behind why the family misled us and appropriate action will be taken if we find any malaise," said Kumar.

Singh's family had lodged a complaint against three persons, Ibrahim, Mansoor and Abbas, stating that these men might be behind the alleged abduction of Singh.
