Minor gang-raped after 2 youth offer her car ride

The accused has been identified as Paramdeep Singh, a resident of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh

A minor girl was allegedly gangraped by two youths who offered her a car ride outside the Bangla Sahib Gurudwara in the Capital on Friday night.

Confirming the gangrape, B K Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) said,"The complainant was walking along the footpath of Baba Kharak Singh Marg at around 9 pm when the accused, Paramdeep Singh along with his cousin, started following her.

One of the accused, Paramdeep introduced himself to the minor and offered her a ride in his White Swift Dzire car, which was parked in the parking lot of Bangla Saheb Gurudwara.

The victim boarded the car in front of the Gurudwara and the accused took her for a ride and after that to Shahdara where she was allegedly raped at some unknown house. She was dropped back at Bangla Saheb Gurudwara at 6 am on Saturday. The accused also gave two mobile numbers to her.

"The victim informed the police that she had run away from her home in New Ashok Nagar area and was living in and around Connaught Place. She was studying in a private school," said another police officer.

The accused has been identified as Paramdeep Singh, a resident of Pilibhit in Uttar Pradesh.

The police added that the victim identified him through his WhatsApp profile photo, as well as Facebook profile."One police team was sent to Pilibhit as the current Call Detail Record location showed that the phone was being operated at Pilibhit. The accused's CDR location also showed that he was at Pragati Bhawan, Jai Singh Road on January 6. The alleged place at Shahdara is being verified. The victim was taken there but she claimed that she is not familiar with the locality," said Singh.
