Mini-truck hits woman CISF cop in CP

A mini-truck ran over the leg of a 28-year-old Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) constable while she was on duty at the Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan in Connaught Place (CP) on Saturday morning. The truck driver managed to flee from the spot.

According to the police, the incident took place around 4.30 am, when Constable Vandana Kumari was crossing the road. She suffered several severe injuries in her left leg.

"She did not notice the mini-truck coming in her direction and got hit. She suffered a fracture in her left leg and was immediately taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)," a senior officer said.

According to a doctor, Kumari will be discharged shortly. It also came to the fore that she is married to a CISF officer."The truck owner has been identified but is yet to be taken into police custody. An FIR has been registered against the accused," a CISF officer said.
