The Ghaziabad police Crime Branch has arrested two men for allegedly raping a 25-year-old woman on Friday night when she was returning home from work. The victim who works as a nurse was raped near Sihani Gate in Raj Nagar Extension, Ghaziabad.

The accused, identified as Mohit and Ankit Jaat, have been arrested after the Crime Branch carried out a search for them in several local areas. Another associate Kapil is absconding. Police said that they planned to rob and rape the victim on September 23.

"We questioned around 50 persons from villages in the area. We had also drawn up sketches based on the description provided by the victim. The accused were arrested following the drive by the Crime Branch," said RS Khoda, the Station House Officer of the Sihani Gate police station.

During interrogation, the duo confessed to the crime and revealed that they both work for a medicine company in Ghaziabad.
