In a bizarre incident, a 45-year-old civic sanitation worker was shot at by a man who suspected him of killing his mother using witchcraft. The accused fired at the man and then fled the spot leaving his two-wheeler behind.
The incident occurred in outer Delhi's Mangolpuri area on Saturday morning.

According to the police the sanitation worker Jagdish was sweeping the road when he was shot at by a biker borne assailant. Locals gathered at the spot and, in a hurry to escape, the accused left his motorcycle at the location and fled.

The police later traced the accused man identified as Sagar by the registration number of the motorcycle. They also recovered a country made pistol in his possession.

Investigators revealed that the accused's mother used to work along with Jagdish and he would often speak about curing diseases using witchcraft. Around six months back Sagar's mother fell sick and was vomiting blood from her mouth before she breathed her last. Sagar thought that it was because of Jagdish that she had reached this stage. In order to take revenge he attempted to kill him by shooting him.
