A 23-year-old waiter was allegedly stabbed to death on Monday late night in northwest Delhi's Rani Bagh area. The victim had called his uncle and informed about the attack on him, but succumbed before any help arrived. Police suspect robbery or personal enmity behind the attack and said that the efforts to identify the killer are being made.

The deceased was identified as Nandan, a native of Uttrakhand, who was heading home when the incident took place. According to the police, the incident happened in Rama market when the deceased was returning to his rented accommodation in Pitampura.

"A PCR call was made at 12.30 am, a police team reached at the spot and found a man injured and bleeding. He was in an unconscious state. Policemen rushed the injured man to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The reason behind the murder is still not clear, locals doubts that the reason was robbery while police quashed the allegations as victim's mobile and purse were still inside his pocket. The police suspect personal enmity could be the reason behind the murder," said a senior police officer.

The injured man made call from his mobile to his uncle with whom he stays in Pitampura village. He told his uncle that he has been stabbed on the way to the house. By the time his uncle reached to the spot, he was taken to the hospital by PCR staff, police said.
