A man, who killed a 22-year-old woman after she resisted his attempt to rape her in north-west Delhi's Jahangirpuri area on March 19, was arrested on Wednesday. Accused Dabloo, 25, was nabbed from Jalalabad in Uttar Pradesh (UP).
According to the police, Dabloo's brother had moved to Jahangirpuri just a couple of months ago and was living as the victim's tenant. The accused had come to stay with him for some days. Dabloo later confessed that he had gone to the victim's house with an intention to sexually assault her but she resisted strongly.
"Her 10-month-old child, who was in the same room, started crying. Scared of attracting attention and getting caught, Dabloo strangled her," a police officer said. The body of the victim was discovered by neighbours.
After the incident, the accused fled to Shahjahanpur to his native village but didn't stay there for long and kept changing his locations before being nabbed.
