The Gautam Budh Nagar Police on Friday night arrested four men, including the son of the man who was found dead in sector 78 on April 13. Police said the son of the deceased, Bhura Kabari had hatched a plan to kill him as he was fed up with his father's habit of not giving him enough money to roam around with his friends, and for objecting to his relationship with a girl. The victim used to beat his son often.
According to the police, the accused have been identified as Mukeem, son of Kabari, while three other accomplices were Ashu (21), Moin (20) and Waseem (20), residents of Ghaziabad.
On April 13, Kabari, who owned a shop in sector 78, was shutting his shop at 9:30 pm when two bike-borne criminals shot at him. The victim collapsed on the spot. Locals informed the police and he was rushed to a private hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead on arrival.
Following the murder, the family members had named 2 rival scrap dealers as suspects. However, their involvement was not proved.
"Kabari had three children, of which his youngest son Mukeem, used to spend a lot of time with unknown people," Preeti Bala Gupta, Superintendent of Police (Crime).
During the investigation, it was revealed that Mukeem always had fights with his father over money. Mukeem had hired some contract killers for Rs 10 lakhs to eliminate him, said police.
Police found a .315 bore country-made gun and a live cartridge from their possession.
"We have launched a search for the fifth accused, Rajesh Plumber, whose bike was used in the crime," said Gupta.
