The Delhi Police have arrested a 25-year-old man for allegedly sexually assaulting and murdering a four-year-old girl in north-west Delhi's Keshavpuram area.
Accused Amarjeet alias Chup Ram was friends with the victim's father and had reportedly consumed liquor with him on the day of the incident. The accused is married and has a four-year-old daughter himself.
"Amarjeet is a native of Bihar and had been staying near the victim's house for the last three to four years. He lured the child on the pretext of giving her sweets. He sexually assaulted her before smothering her," a senior police officer said.

Amarjeet was arrested on Wednesday from the Bawana industrial area, after he was traced using his mobile location. Further investigation is underway.
