Looks like the luxury cars' mishap spree in the Capital is far from over. In a third such incident within just a week, a rashly-driven BMW rammed in to a cab and an auto, before hitting a wall in south Delhi's RK Puram area on Sunday morning. A woman, a senior citizen, and a cab driver were among the four injured in the accident.

BMW driver Rajat Prabhaker, 28, a resident of Karol Bagh, was reportedly drunk at the time of the incident and was driving on the wrong side of the road. He did his schooling from the Bishop Cotton School in Shimla and then did BCom (H) from DU's Bhagat Singh College in 2007. His father owns a business of processed milk products in Karol Bagh.

According to the police, the incident took place around 8 am near a temple in RK Puram, Sector-1. Prabhaker's silver BMW was coming from the Delhi airport side road. An Uber cab, a Swift-Dzire car, was coming from the opposite side. It had driver Pradeep, 35, and a couple identified as Munni Dutta, 28, and Bitoo Pal, 32. An auto was parked on the side of the road with its driver Ram Chander, 60, inside.

"The cab was booked from Noida and was going towards the airport side. BMW driver Prabhaker was coming from the wrong side. The two vehicles had a head-on collision. The BMW then went on to hit the parked auto. Prabhaker then rammed the car into a boundary wall, almost breaking a part of it. Tests are being conducted to check if he was under the influence of alcohol," a senior police officer said.

The injured couple was from Assam and their families have been informed. Auto driver Chander's wife Ramvati said her husband has been driving the auto for the last 40 years but had never experienced such a mishap. "He left early on Sunday and was reading the paper inside the rickshaw when it happened. I hope he recovers soon," Ramvati said.

Neelam Pandey, a resident of a neighbouring colony, heard the collision and mistook it for a cylinder blast. "The way he was driving, it seemed he was drunk. Anyone on the road could have been seriously hurt," she said.

Last week on Sunday, a 17-year-old boy was mowed down by a businessman in a Mercedes car. Two days later, another Mercedes car injured a 50-year-old man in south Delhi.
