Former Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) MP Rakesh Pandey's son Ashish Pandey, who was seen brandishing a gun at Delhi's Hyatt hotel and threatening two persons, continues to remain absconding. A team of Delhi Police officers are carrying out raids at his residence and several other places in Lucknow. A Look Out Circular (LOC) has also been issued against Ashish and all airports are on alert.

Police have registered a case under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and 25/27/54 Arms Act.

Minister of State (MoS) Kiren Rijju addressed the incident in a tweet. "Delhi Police has initiated action on this incident which is also being shown in the media. FIR has been registered under Arms Act and IPC. Strong and appropriate action will be taken. Also verifying the identity of others," he tweeted from his official handle.

Ashish was seen brandishing his gun at the porch of the five-star hotel on the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday. The video of the incident went viral on social media wherein Ashish, who is wearing a pair of pink pants and a black t-shirt, is seen holding a gun and threatening a man and a woman. The man was later identified as Kanwar Gaurav Singh, son of former Congress MLA from Model Town Kanwar Karan Singh.

In the video, Ashish can be seen approaching Gaurav and then being taken away by one of his friends. A girl, who is with Ashish, can be seen abusing them. Ashish later returns to his car in which three woman are seated and can be seen abusing the duo. All this while, officials of the Hyatt are also seen moving around them as the brawl continues.

The case was registered on the complaint of Assistant Security Manager Sawan Kumar who was on night duty at the Hyatt Regency hotel. He told police that at around 3:40 am on October 14, he received a call from the security manager stating that a male had entered the women's washroom near the P-level guest elevator. "I reached there along with a lady guard Asha and saw that there was a quarrel going on. On one hand was a woman accompanied by a man and on the other, three women who were accompanied by two to three male members. Both groups came to the main porch area and stood there waiting for their cars," said Sawan in his complaint. He further added that the argument gained momentum and the man went to the BMW car which was parked nearby and whipped out a pistol.

"He also threatened to kill the man and the woman with whom he was quarrelling. The security staff intervened and the man, along with three other women in the car, left the hotel premises. The other party then ate at the cafe restaurant and left the premises. I had also informed the Chief Security Officer about the incident," he said in his statement to the police.

Ashish's father, Rakesh and brother Ritesh, have switched off their phones and were not reachable.
