The Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Delhi Assembly, Vijender Gupta, hit out at the AAP government for derailing the budget plan of FY 2018-19 and affecting the development works in various civic bodies. He alleged that Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been "careless" in his duty towards the city.

Addressing the media, Gupta said that the current financial year is about to end in 11 weeks and the Kejriwal government has managed to spend only 15-20 per cent of the budget allocated to different departments. "The government has failed to achieve the objectives set by it in this year's budget. A lot of departments have performed poorly in spending the money. The AAP will not be able to do much in the remaining 11 weeks," he said.

The BJP leader also listed out the objectives outlined by the government during the budget that have not been met. He also trained guns at deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia, saying the second-in-command had promised 2,000 buses on the city roads by March 2019. "In his budget speech, he had said Delhi will have 1,000 buses e-buses for Delhi Transport Corporation. The reality is that the government has not purchased even two buses and the year is already coming to an end," the LOP claimed.

Gupta also termed AAP's Mohalla Clinics a failed idea. "The government had made claims of setting up 530 such clinics under the scheme as well as 230 school clinics by October 2018. The ministers had also said staff will be hired and the clinics will be made functional. Where are these clinics," he asked.

The Rohini MLA attacked Kejriwal over other "failed" projects like CCTV in schools. "The government had said all schools will be equipped with CCTV by January 2019. The project has not taken off at all. Similarly, doorstep delivery and hospital information system have also failed to take off," he alleged.
