Leader of Opposition marshalled out of Delhi Assembly

Leader of Opposition Vijender Gupta on Tuesday, threw his weight behind Transport Secretary Varsha Joshi who was ‘pulled up’ by transport minister Kailash Gahlot few days ago. Claiming that the minister was ‘mentally torturing the bureaucrat’ for not signing the proposal to ‘unauthorisedly’ hire 1,000 low floor buses.

The ruckus led to he being marshalled out of the House as BJP MLAs and their Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) counterparts go into heated discussions. MLAs OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan followed him in protest. 

During the House proceedings, Gupta also demanded cancellation of the proposal and apology from Gahlot for “humiliating and irritating the lady officer known for integrity and efficiency”.  The Bharatiya Janata Party leader also asked the Kejriwal government to explain the need to acquire low floor buses, stating that the project smacked of corruption.

The LOP also said, “AAP is hypocritical with regard to honour and dignity of ladies. Whereas CM Arvind Kejriwal speaks of honour and safety of women, his Ministers  leave no stone unturned in humiliating, harassing and mentally torturing senior woman  Officer.” He also alleged that the Delhi Government was running a scam under the garb of low floor buses. 

LOW FLOOR BUSES

The Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijender Gupta also asked the Kejriwal government to explain the need to acquire low floor buses, stating that the project smacked of corruption. He said AAP is hypocritical with regard to honour and dignity
