Ousted Delhi government minister Kapil Mishra will soon have to let go of his official residence in the Civil Lines area. Earlier this week, Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Satyendar Jain sent a letter to the department officials, instructing them to get the house vacated at the earliest.

"His name is still outside the house. As he is not a Delhi government minister anymore, he shouldn't be allowed to live in the government residence," Jain wrote in his letter to the department.

Mishra has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of accepting Rs 2 crore as bribe from Health Minister Jain. He also filed a complaint in this regard with the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB). Following the stunning allegation, Mishra was suspended from AAP's primary membership.

Continuing his salvo against the party's top leadership, Mishra then lodged three FIRs with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) — first on the alleged cash deal between Jain and Kejriwal, second on how Jain helped Kejriwal's close relatives to benefit from illegal land deals, and the third on illegal use of funds by senior party leaders during foreign tours.

"He will not be allowed to stay in the house, even if he is willing to pay the rent. The rent of the house is 65 times the license fee, which would come to around Rs 1-2 lakh per month," a senior Delhi government official said.

According to sources, the house may now be allotted to Delhi Environment Minister Imran Hussain, whose house at DDU Marg has been identified by the High Court for converting into a family court.
