Ousted Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Minister Kapil Mishra's allegations of corruption against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal have triggered Round II of the infighting within the ruling party, which is yet to recover from the recent MCD poll debacle.

Mishra's allegations against Kejriwal, of receiving Rs 2 crore "illegal cash" from Health Minister Satyendar Jain, come just four days after the AAP managed to pacify its senior leader Kumar Vishvas, who had questioned the party leadership for blaming "faulty" EVMs for its humiliating defeat in the recently held municipal polls.

Mishra, the AAP MLA from Karawal Nagar, who is considered to be a close aide of Vishvas, was among those few legislators who openly took his side and asked the party leadership to "introspect" instead of blaming the EVMs.

The camaraderie between the two party leaders, however, took a turn on Sunday when Vishvas countered Mishra's allegations against Kejriwal, saying: "No one would believe that Kejriwal took a bribe".

The poet-turned-politician also said that Mishra should have put the matter in front of the party's Political Affair Committee (PAC).

"He should not have levelled such serious allegations publicly," said Vishvas, who himself had faced conspiracy charges, levelled by another party MLA, Amanatullah Khan. Khan was later suspended from the party.

Interestingly, Mishra was one of the several MLAs who had signed a letter urging Kejriwal to suspend Khan for calling Vishvas a "BJP agent".

According to sources close to Mishra, he was also expecting support from Vishvas.

"Mishra, who has always backed Vishvas, is disappointed with his statement," a senior party official said.

Meanwhile, those close to Vishvas said he was also disappointed with Mishra for coming out in public without even letting him know.

"Mishra said that he was going to reveal something related to the Water Tank scandal. Today, he talked about everything but the scam," a senior party official said.

Another party official added: "Mishra's ties with Vishvas weakened after differences between the latter and Kejriwal got resolved. He was still adamant about stepping up attacks against Kejriwal."
