Infighting in the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) intensified on Tuesday, with suspended party MLA Kapil Mishra submitting three complaints with the Central Bureau of the Investigation (CBI) against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and other party leaders.

Mishra reached the CBI office armed with three yellow envelopes containing documents to back his complaints. "I have registered three complaints with the CBI. First, regarding the exchange of Rs 2 crore between Kejriwal and Satyendar Jain. The second in connection with the Rs 50 crore land deal made by Kejriwal's relative, and third against the five AAP leaders who misused funds for foreign trips," he said.

The development came a day after Mishra was suspended from the primary membership of AAP, following his allegations that Kejriwal accepted a bribe of Rs 2 crore from the Health and Public Works Department Minister Jain.

The five party leaders mentioned by Mishra in the "illegal" foreign trips complaint were Raghav Chadha, Ashish Khetan, Sanjay Singh, Satyendar Jain, and Durgesh Pathak for making "illegal" foreign trips. "If the party does not make the details of AAP leaders' foreign visits public, I'll launch an indefinite hunger strike on Wednesday," he said.

The investigative agency, too, confirmed receiving Mishra's complaints and stated that it will start a probe soon. "The CBI received three complaints from Mishra, related to charges of bribery and irregularities by Arvind Kejriwal and others in the Delhi government. The complaints will be examined and verified," a CBI official said.

Meanwhile, unfazed by the criticism of the party, the 36-year-old Karawal Nagar MLA attended the Delhi Assembly's special session, where AAP gave a live demonstration of the alleged EMV tampering with the help of a dummy machine. However, Mishra, AAP's blue-eyed boy who used to be seated in the front rows earlier, suddenly became a back-bencher in the Delhi Vidhan Sabha on Tuesday.

"AAP's EVM exposé is a way to divert attention from the real issues. People don't vote for Kejriwal anymore, which is the truth, and they are trying to hide it," he said after the session.

Earlier in the day, Mishra had written an open letter to his former "guru", Kejriwal, to seek his blessings before filing the complaint against him. He also dared the CM to fight elections against him from any seat of his choice.

The former Water Minister had submitted "evidence" to the Anti-Corruption Branch on Monday, accusing Kejriwal of shielding his predecessor, Sheila Dikshit, in the Rs 400-crore water tanker scam.
