Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students organised a 'tea protest' at the campus late on Sunday night against Varsity's decision of shutting down of dhabas during the night in a bid to save Campus' night culture. Following this, the Varsity changed its decision and relaxed the timing on Monday.
Scores of students including the members of JNU Students Union (JNUSU) gathered near Sabarmati Dhaba for the protest. Later, they also protested outside the convention centre on Monday against the Dhaba rules and demanded regulation of food prices in the Dhaba.
JNU authority had recently issued a notice to campus's famous 24*7 Dhaba directing it to close down by 11 pm. "The Varsity has changed the decision in today's Central Development Committee meeting and now the dhabha will remain open till 1 am," JNUSU president Mohit Pandey, said.
