A major incident was averted when a wing of a Jet Airways flight with 133 passengers onboard hit a catering truck at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International airport on Sunday evening. 

No passenger was injured in the incident, the officials said.

Sources in the Central Industrial Security Force confirmed the incident saying that it was about 8.09 pm, when the Airport Operations Control Centre informed that a flight that had just arrived from Dubai, 9w- 545, with 133 passenger on board, hit -a catering truck parked nearby.

The right wing tip of Jet Airways flight 9W 545 came in contact with a catering vehicle, as the aircraft was being parked at its designated bay, post landing, the Jet spokesperson said. 

The incident took place while the plane was moving towards the parked Bay 20 R, for parking, where the catering vehicle of Taj Sats was already parked.

"Passengers deboarded the plane safely and no injury was reported in the incident. The plane was later attended by technical experts from the airline," an officer said.

Jet Airways is investigating the incident, which has also been reported to the authorities.
