A Japanese national was found lying dead at his rented accommodation in South Delhi's Defense Colony. The deceased identified as Yoichi Nishimura (70) was suffering from diarrhea for some days. Prima-facie it appears that he succumbed to his illness, police said. He was working as an engineering consultant with for NIPPON.

On Tuesday morning, police had received a PCR call about a person not opening his door. When the team reached the spot, Nishimura was found lying unconscious on his bathroom floor with no external injuries or marks. The police suspect the cause of the death to be medical reasons. However, the autopsy report will provide a clear reason for the death.

Nishimura's family has been informed and his body has been preserved at AIIMS mortuary.

"Prime facie it appears that medical issues are the reason for his death, however, we are waiting for the autopsy which will throw light on the reason of the death. We have informed his family and sent the body to AIIMS mortuary," said DCP, South, Romil Baaniya.
