A Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) student was injured after a clash broke out between two groups of students during a freshers party in southeast Delhi, police said on Wednesday.
According to the cops, the incident took place on October 12, and a case against four students was registered on October 16.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said: "The fight broke out between students of law faculty during the freshers party. Based on the injuries sustained by one of the students, a case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered."
The incident took place inside the college auditorium, where the party was being organised. Students present there told the police that one of the seniors objected to his classmate clicking pictures at the party. The verbal fight soon turned ugly and the duo got into a scuffle.
Meanwhile, friends of both parties joined in as well and the college authorities had to intervene to resolve the matter. Both groups parted ways, but then fought again near the college gate.
Later, a student who had sustained injuries rushed to get medical aid and reported the matter to the police.
