Interstate gang of auto lifters nabbed by Delhi police, 10 cars recovered

Three people, Mohsin, Aslam, and Shahzad, have been arrested by the Special Staff of North District police.

The Delhi police on Saturday claimed to have busted an interstate gang of auto lifters operating in Delhi and various parts of Uttar Pradesh. The police recovered ten stolen cars, keys of 12 cars, one car engine scanner set, vehicle opening tools and 52 keys of other cars. Three people, Mohsin, Aslam, and Shahzad, have been arrested by the Special Staff of North District police.

During interrogation, one of the accused Mohsin said that he initially visited Delhi with a friend, Ashfaq for stealing stereo of the cars. In the meantime, he met another auto lifter Guddu who motivated him to steal cars and to earn more money. "Then they started to steal cars along with other members, Umaruddin, Aslam, Gulfam, and Shehzad," said a senior police official.

During the course of the investigation, total 10 stolen cars were recovered from Meerut and Murad Nagar, UP from their instances. They further disclosed that they have previously involved in more than 500 cases of MV Theft and parts of vehicles.
