An inter-state train robbers gang has been arrested by the Crime Branch of Delhi police, the gang of five members had been targeting single female passengers and other careless passengers and rob them of their belongings.

The arrested accused identified as Vikram (46), Rajinder (43), Sonu (25), Mustakim (52), Vicky (23), had robbed a person of Rs 20,000 after stabbing him in his chest, hand and neck, the accused then jumped of the moving train.

A case was registered against them Sarai Rohilla police station, the accused had stabbed the victim multiple times in chest, hand and neck after the victim refused to give the money after multiple threats.

The gang in their interrogation had accepted that they always used to carry sharp objects with them, so whenever it was required they would stab a passenger to get the money or the valuable.

On Sunday a team of the Crime Branch had received a secret information that Vikram along with his gang would come near Mubarka Chowk, the team conducted a raid in the area, from where Vikram along with his four associate was arrested. The police team also recovered three knives (paper cutters) which they used to threaten the victims.

During interrogation they also revealed that about three years ago the gang had an internal fight and Sonu along with Rajinder and others had attacked the gang leader Vikram after they had a dispute over the distribution of robbed amount.

Vikram who was badly injured in the attack had filed an FIR in charges of culpable homicide against Sonu and Rajinder, who had been absconding ever since then, however soon the gang had again resolved their issues and started working together.

The gang admitted to be involved in nine cases of theft, where they used jump of the moving train after committing the crime. Mostly they would jump while the train was about to leave the station or it was about to reach a station
