In fresh trouble for the Aam Aadmi Party, allegations of sale and purchase of party tickets for Punjab election scheduled in 2017, came to light on Wednesday, when a party coordinator wrote an open letter to Arvind Kejriwal alleging "money laundering and immoral activities" within the party.

Virender Singh Parihar, Coordinator of the NRI wing and fund raising of Hoshiarpur city, alleged. "It is so ironic that observers you sent here in Punjab are opium addicts and alcoholics and you are making false promises of making drug free. The first thing you should do is make your observers ' drug free."

Parihar alleged that the party's Observer for Hoshairpur, Ashok Naglia, and his team had lived at his farmhouse outside Hoshiarpur city and they were involved in "drugs, ticket selling, money laundering and many immoral activities." He claimed his repeated complaints against them to AAP senior leader Durgesh Pathak were ignored.

Accusing them of fund raising through illegal means, he further alleged, "Since I am fund raising coordinator of this zone, I know that Rs 2 crore was collected from each constituency, some through cheque but most through illegally gotten money. All this money, which is approximately Rs 200 crore, belongs to the people of Punjab, you must return it. I also know who transported this money to New Delhi and which vehicle were used. Millions of dollars were collected from USA, Canada and other countries, you and your team committed international crimes by bringing that money to India by illegal means."

This is not the first time AAP is in deep trouble. Earlier, as well, many young party members alleged that party tickets were being sold by top party leaders in-charge of Punjab elections. On November 24, a party candidate claimed that two of the party's top leaders in the state had demanded Rs 1 crore for campaigning for the elections.

The AAP candidate from the Bhoa assembly constituency in Pathankot district, Vinod Kumar, claimed that party leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak had demanded the money after he was given a party ticket.

"I was called on November 12 to a house in Chandigarh. AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Durgesh Pathak told me that I was not campaigning properly. They also told me to get Rs 1 crore deposited with them so that they could take care of my campaigning," Kumar had alleged.
