A day after Aam Aadmi Party MLA and its Political Affairs Committee (PAC) member Amanatullah Khan resigned from the party's highest decision-making body, Khan said that despite, "being the member of the committee, he was not allowed to speak his mind."

Khan stepped down as a member of the PAC after the party leadership objected to his statement against senior AAP leader Kumar Vishwas on Monday. He had alleged Vishwas of being an "agent of the BJP" who has been trying to "usurp" the party, a day before.

"Being a member of the PAC panel had become a hurdle for me in speaking my mind freely, which is why I decided to step down," Khan said.

Khan reiterated his allegations against Vishwas saying, "I will once again repeat that Kumar Vishwas is hand in glove with the BJP and the RSS to break the Aam Aadmi Party. I don't think I said anything wrong. Whatever I said was in party's interest."

On being asked about his future in AAP, Khan said, "I will continue serving as an honest worker of the party. Kejriwal is not unhappy with me. He does not know about Vishwas' intentions as of now. He will realise it soon."

Khan had alleged that Vishwas was hatching a conspiracy to usurp and break up the party following which several party leaders including Delhi Ministers Kapil Mishra and Imran Hussain had signed a letter urging party chief Arvind Kejriwal to expel him. Party's Janakpuri MLA Rajesh Rishi asked Kejriwal to expel Khan from the party as well.

"I don't care about those who are raising voices against me within the party. They have their own inclinations," Khan said.
